Description

Cardon sits two floors underground in the Dai-ichi Denpa Building, and was launched in March 2023 by Tomohappy, a well-known top-level Magic: The Gathering player. Its main line is current Pokemon cards, but what makes it stand out in Akihabara is that it also buys and sells long out-of-print titles. In a district packed with more than 120 dedicated TCG shops, the founder felt that opening yet another lookalike store would be pointless, and chose a distinctive path: a whole-catalog shop that even handles discontinued cards. While most stores narrow their focus to singles from the newest sets, Cardon is built around bringing the cards you used to play with back to life, making it a natural home for old cards left in a closet and for out-of-print games whose communities are still going. The basement floor is unusually spacious for Akihabara, so you can browse the showcases at a relaxed pace. The large sign is on the ground floor along Shohei-dori, but the shop itself is down the stairs on basement level 2 — easy to find if you use the nearby Cocos as a landmark on the way toward Kanda Myojin. It suits both players topping up current sets and collectors selling rare, out-of-print cards, and for those who cannot visit in person there is mail-in buying: just pack your cards in a box and send them.
