Description

This is the flagship of Trader, a long-running Akihabara seller and buyer of games, hobby goods and Blu-rays. Operated by Trader Inc., it occupies the Trader Honten (flagship) Building that bears its name. Across floors devoted to console and retro games, figures and video media, it also buys and sells trading cards such as Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh! and One Piece — a position distinct from dedicated card shops. Its strength is buying. In-store buyback is commission-free and accepts even a single item, paying cash on the spot once you accept the quote. For those who can't visit, there's nationwide mail-in buying as well; meet the conditions and you can sell shipping-free at so-called Akiba prices. Because you can buy and sell not just cards but games and goods together, it suits people who want to clear out other hobby items while sorting their cards — or, conversely, hunt for games with the money from a sale. Close to Akihabara Station, its multi-floor scale is a different kind of advantage from the nimbleness of a specialty shop. It traces its history to a division of Messe Sanoh, known for used sales, and it accepts a range of payments including credit cards, WeChat Pay and Alipay, making it easy for overseas visitors to shop as well.
