The retro branch of "magi": old-back Pokemon, Mushiking and more, on Radio Kaikan 5F, 2 min from the station.
Japan, 〒101-0021 Tokyo, Chiyoda City, Sotokanda, 1-chōme−15−16 ラジオ会館 5F
This shop is the physical storefront of "magi," the flea-market app for trading-card collectors, opened by its operator Jiraffe Inc. on the 5th floor of Radio Kaikan in March 2023. The company runs several magi locations in Akihabara, but this one stands out as its "retro branch," built around older cards — a specialist store riding the rising interest in vintage cards at home and abroad. The shelves hold things you rarely see at new-set-focused stores: old-back Pokemon cards, Mushiking and Dinosaur King, old Digimon cards, and overseas-edition Yu-Gi-Oh! cards, extending even to Pokemon-related items such as Carddass. High-value graded collectibles — PSA 10 Espeon and Charizard, first-print Mewtwo and the like — sit in the showcases, sold with condition graded by professional appraisers, so collectors who care about condition can buy with confidence. Radio Kaikan is a two-minute walk from Akihabara Station's Electric Town exit, and because the building gathers several card shops, this store makes a natural first stop when hunting for retro cards floor by floor. In recent years it has drawn visitors from abroad looking for vintage Japanese cards as one-of-a-kind finds — a place to visit for "that one old card" rather than the current-title lineup.
